We are excited to announce the "Ultimate in Letting Go," available right here in Austin. WatersomaZen is performed in a 96 degree pool, allowing for complete release of anti-gravity and body-temperature mechanisms in a gentle and safe environment.

A typical session begins with a still hold, which helps to build trust. Once trust is established the journey inward can begin. A still hold is used throughout the session when the therapist senses a shift; this facilitates integration.

A gentle rocking and swaying from the sacrum begins the process of loosening the vertebrae and hips. We begin to notice unconscious holding patterns and gradually let them go.

Stretching the hips across not only opens upper thighs but also the lumbar spine. Notice how the arms float freely as I swirl Jon in circles, dragging the opposite leg to relax the front of the hip joint.

After establishing open joints in shoulders and hips, the cradling technique is used, gently bringing the knees up to the chest. Great release in the low back! It's probably been a while since you were held in someone's arms like this.

Since the head is supported during the whole session, there is the possibility of holding in the neck, which is easily remedied with this nice occipital pull, circling one direction, then the other.

Leah

Work with the abdominal organs is possible with the head resting on the shoulder, as below. This position also facilitates using the upper ribs as a fulcrum.

After you have become comfortable working in water, there is advanced work, which includes going underwater using nose clips. Simply breathe out while under and you are brought back to the surface for another breath.

Above Leah gets a nice stretch all the way up the right side, from the knee to the wrist. The left leg moves freely in the socket. Underwater work really gets the upper body loosened up.

The session usually ends with a slowing down using the cradle, then transitioning to vertical by leaning against the side of the pool. Time is allowed for re-entry. Coming back to the world of gravity is, unfortunately, necessary.
